Bansko does not have its own airport, the main airport used for holidays in Bansko is Sofia Airport. Sofia airport has two terminals connected by a free shuttle bus which can take 20 minutes to travel between the two. When hiring a car or using the airport for connecting flights, keep a check on which terminal the flight is using. There are currently flights from these four main operators however other routes are available and it may be a good idea to compare these with other companies at www.flights.booking.com.

At the town of Septemvri the Rhodope narrow gauge meets the standard-gauge railway, Sofia–Plovdiv line.
The journey from Sofia to Septemvri will take two and half hours then connect at Septemvri and travel to Bansko or Razlog, this will take another four and half hours, the total journey time of around seven hours.
